The Australian Greenhouse Office, with support from the Asia Pacific
Economic Cooperation and the International Energy Agency, hosted an
international conference on standby power at the National Gallery of
Australia, Canberra, 6-7 November 2006. The Conference sought to develop
an internationally consistent model to address excessive standby power
consumption.

Industry leaders outlined how a common international approach is the most cost-effective mechanism to deliver the energy reductions being sought by governments:
