This report was commissioned by NAEEEC as part of a national evaluation of the appliance energy labelling program and was prepared by Yann, Campbell, Hoare & Wheeler. The report was released in August 1998.
This survey was commissioned to evaluate the level of compliance in appliance retailers throughout Australia. The study covered all labelled appliances: refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers, clothes dryers, dishwashers, airconditioners. It covered 400 retail outlets and 29,024 appliances on display. The report found that 92% of all appliances on display carried an energy label.

A similar study was also conducted in 2000/2001 to evaluate the transition to the new energy label and to assess the level of energy labelling compliance. The most recent surveys were conducted in 2004/2005.
