2015/16 Achievements Report

Over the past 12 months alone, the E3 Program has contributed, in avoided energy costs, more than $1 billion to the Australian economy and $114 million to the New Zealand economy. Combined, this is an estimated 11.8 million tonnes of carbon emissions avoided per annum.

report on the program’s achievements for 2015/16 highlights the broad range of activities that contribute towards these benefits.

For example, the program has recently been re-focussed around regulating the products that will deliver the most benefits.  The E3 Prioritisation Plan identifies how the program will accelerate policy development and focus on regulating products that will deliver the most energy – and emissions – savings.

Other activities that contributed towards the program’s achievements in 2015/16 have included the compliance and registration efforts of the GEMS Regulator, policy development through Product Profiles and consultation Regulation Impact Statements, and ongoing communication and education efforts across Australia and New Zealand.
