New Zealand

The New Zealand Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (NZEECS) is a companion strategy to the New Zealand Energy Strategy (NZES) which sets the strategic direction of the energy sector and the role energy will play in the New Zealand economy.

The NZEECS is the action plan for energy efficiency and conservation, and the use of renewable sources of energy. It also sets out responsibility for delivering each action. New Zealand’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000 requires that there is a national energy efficiency and conservation strategy in force at all times.

The NZEECS is available for download here.

The NZEECS includes a commitment to greater business and consumer uptake of energy efficient products.
