International Projects

Successful cooperation on energy efficiency not only helps Australia achieve domestic energy savings but also forms part of Australia’s global contribution to combating climate change by:

  • reducing barriers to trade and promoting the continued supply of efficient and high quality appliances and equipment to the Australian market; and
  • allowing for the creation of longer-term policy models to suit a global economy by encouraging countries to adopt a globally aligned policy model without needing agree to a single specification at any given time in the policy model’s lifetime.

Australia engages with the international community by forming bilateral agreements with various nations and currently has partnerships with the following organisations:

  • Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)
  • International Energy Agency (IEA)
  • Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (APP)
