This page has information on sourcing test materials, supplements for published standards, administrative circulars and independent test laboratories for those products regulated for energy efficiency in Australia. It is regularly updated with the latest information.

• Sources of Test Materials for a range of standards – this is a PDF file (right click the link and “Save Target As” to download onto your local computer) (more detailed information is provided below).
• List of NATA Accredited labs in Australia – (updated September 2009) these labs can test to the relevant standards for products which are regulated for energy efficiency in Australia.
• In the product registration form, NATA recognised laboratories (overseas) are those that are accredited by a body that is part of NATA’s Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) Network. These include accreditation bodies that are part of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Scheme (ILAC), the Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Scheme (APLAC), European Accreditation (EA) or Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC). A list of all NATA recognised accreditation bodies is available on the NATA site.
• Swatch Normalisation Curves (version 64 released 17 May 2013) for AS/NZS 2040 clothes washer soil swatches AS9 – this is a Microsoft Excel file (right click the link and “Save Target As” to download onto your local computer).
• Recent changes to the swatch calibration process (February 2013)
• Swatch Calibration Process (version 1.1) – This document details the current process used for calibrating swatch batches as developed by the EL 15/4 Standards Committee.
• Important Notice from Standards Australia regarding initial reflectance of AS9 Swatches (2009-01)
• PLEASE NOTE: Some of the batches approved are incorrectly marked on the base material. Please ensure that you state the batch number clearly when ordering it and keep a track of the batch and use the correct calibration curve.

Note that while the test loads items for clothes washers and clothes dryers are harmonised, laboratories should maintain separate loads for clothes washer and clothes dryer testing.
