This is the third intrusive residential survey undertaken to quantify the standby power of appliances in Australian households. In most cases several low power modes were measured for most appliances. This survey was primarily concerned with quantification of the stock of appliances and equipment currently installed in households and their attributes in the relevant low power mode when connected to main power. The results attained from this latest intrusive survey compliment results obtained from the 2000 and 2005 intrusive surveys, and provides information which can be used to assess residential trends in standby power.
