The GEMS Regulator is on the move in 2020
On Thursday 5 December 2019, the Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon Scott Morrison MP, announced changes to the structure of the Australian Public Service.
Included in these changes is the move of energy and climate change functions, including the functions of the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) Regulator, from the current Department of the Environment and Energy to the new Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.
These changes take effect from 1 February 2020.
The GEMS Regulator wishes to advise registrants that we do not anticipate that these changes will have a significant impact on registrants. We will continue to process all product registrations and respond to any enquiries throughout the transition to the new department.
There will be some changes to the Regulator’s contact details, which will be advised once the arrangements are in place.
In the meantime, it remains business as usual.
Please contact the Energy Rating Team if you have any questions or concerns.
