Market surveillance of lighting retail outlets, conducted by GEMS inspectors during 2015, revealed a range of compliance issues the GEMS Regulator would like industry to be aware of.

These include the supply of several different types of incandescent lamps despite sales restrictions being in place since 2012; and, the supply of an increasing number of “replica carbon filament” lamps greater than 25W, containing a tungsten filament as an alternative to a carbon filament, again, despite the sales restriction.
