Farewell to Mike Underhill
After almost ten years in the job, Mike Underhill, Chief Executive of New Zealand’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), has retired. Mike was a strong supporter of the E3 Program saying, upon his retirement, 'Don’t underestimate the power of this seemingly humble program'.
Michelle Croker, the GEMS Regulator, paid tribute to Mike’s leadership of EECA, saying 'EECA’s contribution to the E3 Program has been, and will continue to be, fundamental to collaboration on appliance energy efficiency between the two countries'.
In an article published just before his retirement, Mike reflected upon the progress New Zealand had made in the energy sector and the opportunities presented by the future.
