GEMS Compliance continues to work with industry
In the latter half of 2018, GEMS inspectors were invited to attend meetings of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturers Association of Australia (AREMA) and the Consumer Electronics Suppliers Association (CESA). They also met with representatives of several retail chains and a major online supplier, to discuss a range of compliance issues and ensure industry continues to be meaningfully engaged with GEMS Compliance.
‘Engagement and education’ is a vital element of the GEMS Compliance Framework, outlined in the GEMS Compliance Policy. It will continue to be a major focus throughout 2019, particularly for any proposed GEMS products or those subject to regulatory changes.
