The registrations of four air-conditioners have been cancelled by the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) Regulator and can no longer be offered for sale or supply in Australia.

Registration number Product Brand Name Model Registration Cancelled
AAC7625 Air Conditioner Arctix SGEO-RCSS-02 7 Feb 2024
AAC7595 Air Conditioner Dayton HL-SLRC02 7 Feb 2024
AAC7134 Air Conditioner Hayville HL-75SLRENHP 7 Feb 2024
AAC7729 Air Conditioner Arctix MSZ-02EABWK 7 Feb 2024

The registrant was offered a chance to provide the air-conditioners for check testing under section 57 of the GEMS Act, but ultimately applied to cancel the registration of their products instead.

Check testing is conducted to verify that the product meets the energy-efficiency claims provided on the registration and the Energy Rating Label. The Energy Rating Label empowers consumers to make informed decisions about their new appliance and energy bills.

Compliance activities like this ensure consumers have confidence in the quality of the products they buy, and businesses have a fair and competitive commercial environment where everyone is subject to the same rules and obligations.

Visit Enforcement for more information about the products that had their registrations cancelled, and where future actions like this will be listed.
