Air-conditioner registrations cancelled by GEMS Regulator
The registrations of four air-conditioners have been cancelled by the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) Regulator and can no longer be offered for sale or supply in Australia.
Registration number | Product | Brand Name | Model | Registration Cancelled |
AAC7625 | Air Conditioner | Arctix | SGEO-RCSS-02 | 7 Feb 2024 |
AAC7595 | Air Conditioner | Dayton | HL-SLRC02 | 7 Feb 2024 |
AAC7134 | Air Conditioner | Hayville | HL-75SLRENHP | 7 Feb 2024 |
AAC7729 | Air Conditioner | Arctix | MSZ-02EABWK | 7 Feb 2024 |
The registrant was offered a chance to provide the air-conditioners for check testing under section 57 of the GEMS Act, but ultimately applied to cancel the registration of their products instead.
Check testing is conducted to verify that the product meets the energy-efficiency claims provided on the registration and the Energy Rating Label. The Energy Rating Label empowers consumers to make informed decisions about their new appliance and energy bills.
Compliance activities like this ensure consumers have confidence in the quality of the products they buy, and businesses have a fair and competitive commercial environment where everyone is subject to the same rules and obligations.
