Alternative detergent for testing clothes washing machines

On 19 September 2025, the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) Regulator agreed to a change that allows suppliers to use sodium percarbonate as an alternative in detergent when testing washing machines.

Consultation is now open on the heat pump water heaters (HPWH) Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (CRIS). HPWH can offer substantial energy efficiency improvements over traditional (i.e. electric storage and gas) water heaters.

Registration

New registration form for incandescent lamps is now available

The latest incandescent lamp registration form is now available for suppliers to register models that meet the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (Incandescent Lamps for General Lighting Services) Determination 2024 requirements.
