We’re hosting a public forum in October as part of the public consultation on energy efficiency regulations for Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWHs) for Australian stakeholders.

Join us to hear about how we can improve the energy efficiency of HPWHs to help reduce energy use, household bills and greenhouse gas emissions.

The forum will be hosted by the Department’s Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) Lighting and Water Heating team to progress work under the Equipment Energy Efficiency Program (E3).

The session will include:

  • a discussion on the potential impacts, costs, and benefits of introducing minimum energy performance standards for these water heaters as outlined in the Regulation Impact Statement for Consultation
  • alternative implementation approaches
  • a question and answer session.

This is your opportunity to ask questions about the proposed regulatory policy options and their implementation.

This forum will be held on Tuesday 21 October 2025 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm ADST.

Everyone is welcome to attend. You can register interest by emailing GEMSProductReview@dcceew.gov.au by 2 pm Monday 20 October 2025.
